PEOPLES PARK

People's Park is a is a beautiful, relaxing and very clean cultural-theme park , that has been conceptualized into a man-made forest located at the heart of Davao. People's Park It is one of the cleanest and greenest parks in the country and dubbed as the "best park in the Philippines" as well. Entrance to the People’s Park of Davao is free. The Durian Dome is one of the highlights of the park.

Things-to-see

There is a learning center found on one side of the complex that educated both children and adults. On one corner of the park is the “Sunken Garden”, a gardeners haven, and the “Children’s Library”, where children of all ages can read books anytime they want. The park features a Durian dome – a fruit endemic in Davao, mini-forest and large sculptures mostly made by Kublai Millan, the same designer and co-owner of Ponce Suites, a gallery/artwork hotel located in Bajada at Roads 4 and 3 in Davao City. See their security personnel – the Park Rangers – they are on the entrance to inspect visitors before they pass through the park. Experience night life in the park and get the chance to see the walls of the park lighted decorated by “waling-waling”. It is dubbed as the “Queen of Philippine Orchids”. The park also housed hundreds of pigeons. They stay at the “Philippine Rainforest” – a small section inside the park. The most notable among the large sculptures is the Philippine Eagle replica. Kids can also play at the children’s playground with swings, slides, monkey bars and many more. Tables for family picnic can also be found inside People’s Park but most families choose to eat on the ground and near the ponds where large sculptures are also placed.

PHILIPPINE EAGLE CENTER

• Location: Malagos, Calinan, Davao City, Mindanao, Philippines
  

The Philipine Eagle Center is a forest-like conservation center for endangered Philippine eagles, offering educational tours. It is also a home to 36 Philippine Eagles, 18 of which are captive-bred. It also houses 10 other species of birds, 4 species of mammals and 2 species of reptiles. Simulating a tropical rain forest environment, the Center offers the visitor a glimpse into the country’s forest ecosystem. Although the exhibits are used primarily to help educate the Filipino people on conservation, the facility is also considered a major tourist attraction in Davao City.

Things-to-see

Tour guiding at the Philippine Eagle Center is free of charge. It is advisable that visitors call the PEF office and book in advance to ensure the availability of tour guides during their visit. School groups with at least 30 students will be given a 10% discount. However, the group must have to pre-book their visit and must pay in advance at the PEF Office (see Contact Page) to avail of this offer. Family groups of 10 are also provided with the same privilege.

• 1. Conservation Breeding Area- his is where the breeding birds are found. This area is restricted to the public and only the conservation breeding personnel are allowed in its premises.
• 2. IFood Stock Area- This is where the food for the raptors and other animals are raised to ensure a disease-free stock such as rabbits, white mice, quails, and guinea pigs. These stocks are needed for the daily food requirements of every animal at the Center.
• 3. Exhibit Area - his area is open to the general public, wherein exhibit animals are displayed. It is further divided into two parts:

• The close canopy (covered by trees) area is a natural forest adjacent to the Malagos Watershed. Here you will find large old trees and the first few cages that the Philippine Eagle Foundation ever built. Being a natural forest, this part of the Center is relatively rough compared to the rest.
  The plaza/exhibit part is an open canopy area with concrete pathways leading to every enclosure, kiosks and benches available for the guests.

MALAGOS GARDEN RESORT
